Amigurumi Mini Monsters

I have been having fun crocheting some of my Amigurumi Mini Monsters. :)  These guys make me smile and look like they have something they want to tell you!  They've been getting up to all kinds of mischief too.  My Mini Monsters have all different kinds of personalities, characteristics, moods and interests. They can be found in all different colours too.

These little guys will be up for adoption at my etsy shop. :)

Amigurumi Unicorn

I realised I haven't updated my blog for ages!  Naughty me! It's not because I haven't been making new stuff, far from it.  I've made lots of new things lately but I suppose with trying to update my website, etsy, instagram, facebook, twitter etc I sort of forgot about my blog!

So I'm going to try and update with all my new things and I'm starting with my Amigurumi Unicorn. :)  I'd been wanting to make a Unicorn for ages so it felt good to finally get there.  It can be adopted from my etsy shop here. :)

Amigurumi Kittens

I love cats and kittens, cats are my most favourite animal ever so I thought I'd make a little batch of kittens in various colours. :)  Here is the little gang pictured above.  Light brown, black, grey, cream and ginger.

My mum just recently got two little kittens - one is a tabby and the other is black and white.  They are just totally adorable and so playful and fun to watch. :)

Anyway these little kitties will all gradually be going up for adoption at my etsy shop. :)

All about the bears!

This last week or so has all been about the bears for me. :)  I started messing about with designs and made the one, and thought he looked quite cute but a little lonely on his own so I made another one.... and then I thought a dark brown bear would go nicely with the little gang so I made him... and then I thought a cream one had to be made... and there I had it - a little gang of chocolate brown bears. :)

They look so cute hanging out with each other and seem to have adopted personalities of their own.

See what I mean? :)

All these bears will be going up for adoption at my etsy shop. :)

New Amigurumi Owls

It's been a busy week for me this week as I had a trip up to Liverpool to see some friends and also went to a concert, and then yesterday I was out at the Download music festival all day.  Luckily the weather stayed dry and I had a good time. :)

Tired today but I still wanted to blog about my new owls I made recently.  I love my little owls.  I must admit I'm not much of a bird person but I do like owls and thought I'd make a couple of new shades to go with the others I had so there's now a black/grey one and also a different shade of brown.

Available on my etsy shop as usual. :)

Here's Misty hanging out with ner friends...

Amigurumi Ice-Creams

Wow!  It's been such a hot weekend here in the UK!  That's quite unusual for us, heehee. :P  Especially in May.  Today in particular really has been hot.  Too hot for me if I'm honest as I don't like hot weather.

So I've been trying to stay cool by keeping in the shade, eating ice-cream and crocheting..... which then lead to me crocheting ice-creams too and I came up with these little cones flavoured in chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. :)  All up for adoption at my etsy shop. :)

Amigurumi Woodland Bunnies

I seem to have a bit of a thing at the moment about making bunnies. :)  Bunnies are so adorable and you can have a lot of fun with them, like exaggerating their ears for example to end up with such different looking results. :)

So this time I have been making a set of little Woodland Bunnies. :)  I love using this yarn and also added the little ribbon decoration on their ears too.  They will be up for adoption at my etsy shop.

Inside Crochet magazine

Yay I'm so happy to blog today about my crochet being in a magazine. :)  This is a first for me. :)  The magazine is called Inside Crochet and it's the latest issue (issue 7) which has just gone on sale this week.

It's my Amigurumi Monkey Mia and guinea-pig which have been used in the "Things We Like" section.  So pleased to see it there.  I've just scanned it in and added it to my main website too at http://www.cutedesigns.co.uk/.  Good magazine too, I recommend it. :)

Amigurumi Cats

Cats are my absolute favourite animal!  I've grown up with them and always had a cat about, they're just such cute, fun and curious little creatures. :)  So that may come as a surprise that there's rarely been an amigurumi cat in my shop to purchase over the last couple of years or so.

I've made a couple at various times but they just didn't look quite right to me, I don't know why.  I think cats are quite tough animals to do justice as they can come out looking evil.  Anyway I tried a new design which started out as a doodle in my notebook and was chuffed with the result. :)  I'm finally pleased with my cat design, so much so that I made two of them. :)  I love their little bells on their collars.

These little cuties will be up for adoption in my etsy shop. :)

Amigurumi Felix "Scout" McFrosty Penguin

Some of you may recognise this little fellow. :)  When I first started up on etsy I made felt plushies although the amigurumi crochet kind of took over in the end.  Well this is a little character my boyfriend designed for me and I think he's so cute. :)  He started off as a felt plushie and that's the way he's been for the last two and a half years or so.

But with deciding to concentrate more on my crochet I didn't want to lose some of my much loved felt plushie characters so I thought I'd gradually convert them to yarn and make little amigurumi critters out of them.  So here's Felix and in case he's new to you, here's his story...

Felix is on a mission from the Antarctic. Having heard about global warming his penguin clan sent him away to gather information on the world without snow and ice. Sadly, this was years ago and he is now lost and can't find his way home.

Fish was his favourite food but since leaving the Antarctic he has discovered a love for jelly babies.

Felix can be adopted at either my etsy shop or my folksy shop. :)

Amigurumi Kawaii Green Frog

I've alaways liked frogs. :)  I remember when I was little and my mum and dad had a big pond out in the back garden, we used to get loads of frog spawn and frogs.  Used to enjoy seeing them hopping about, cute little things. :)

So it was about time I made a frog and here it is, a little Frog Blob. :D  Up for adoption at my etsy shop. :)

Amigurumi Bumblebees

I like bees. :)  I think bees are quite cute, all fuzzy and flower loving.  Buzzing around and going about their business making honey and stuff.  Unlike wasps which make me run off whenever they come near - eugh!  I hate wasps and been stung on more than one occasion.

So with my new found Spring inspiration I thought I would make a bee... and then another one... and another one... I think they look cute together. :)  These will be buzzing their way on to my etsy shop if interested in adopting. :)

Amigurumi Kawaii Chicks

Continuing with some spring type critters I came up with these little chicks. :)  Thought it would be nice with Easter being the next thing to look forward to.

There was one thing strange though, I bought some Cadburys Mini Eggs to go in the pictures but when I got them back from my boyfriend (who took the photos for me) there seemed to be a lot of eggs missing!  Hmph! :P

Anyway these little chicks will be available from my etsy shop. :)

My Monkey Week. :)

I've been busy in my spare time over the last week or so. :)  Busy making monkeys!  I had none left, not one ickle monkey which is very unlike me.  They all went to good homes over the Christmas period so I thought it was time to get them all back in stock.

And then that got me thinking that I don't think I've ever had them all together at once.  So I grabbed this opportunity and got a pic of them all together.  Awwwww..........

Marvin, Millie, Minty, Mollie, Mikey, Mervin and Mia. :)

I'm calling this my Monkey Week. :)  One a day will be heading in to my etsy shop starting today. :D

A little dusting of snow...

Yesterday morning I woke up to a light dusting of snow. Was surprised by this because even though I'd seen the weather was getting colder I didn't think we were due snow here. Thought it was further up north as it is today.

I'm done with the snow now and don't really want anymore. Saying that though it was a perfect reason to get some new photos taken of my little amigurumi snowy owl. I forgot to do it when we had all the heavy stuff but I think it looks nice for the pictures. :)

Amigurumi Owls in Love

Just a quick update tonight as I'm feeling pretty tired.

I just wanted to post about another of my Valentine's Day themed ideas which are Little Owls in Love. :)  They're based on my current owl design but I used pastel shades of blue and pink yarn and then stitched little hearts to their sides. Awww....  I think they make a cute pair. :)

They'll be going up for adoption on my etsy shop. :)

Introducing Mia the Monkey

It's been a long time since I've introduced a new monkey to my collection. :) I'm happy to do so today. This is Mia.

Mia the Monkey is a very dreamy and whimsical little monkey. She loves to drift off into daydreams and mostly lives in a world of her own.

Mia is hoping to find a comfy home where she will be loved but can also daydream in peace. She is up for adoption at my etsy shop.

Amigurumi Polar Bear

Just a quick blog update tonight as I have to go out soon. I wanted to do a quick entry about another of my winter themed amigurumi critters and this time it's a polar bear. :) I've just listed it at my etsy shop so it's up for adoption and looking for a good home.

Amigurumi Robin

Continuing with another of my more winter themed amigurumis this is a little robin I made. Quite an obvious idea after making so many owls recently. :) I actually can't believe we're well into November already! :O I'd better get a move on listing some of my other ones.

Anyway, the robin is up for adoption at my etsy shop. :)
